Draft Bill On Family Resilience Discussed By DPR Again, Golkar: Too Taking Care Of People's Households

JAKARTA - The Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR is again discussing and harmonizing the Draft Law on Family Resilience. This bill is often debated by the public, even by other members of the Baleg.

The Bill on Family Resilience was proposed by four DPR members from three factions, namely Sodik Mudjahid from the Gerindra faction, Ali Taher from the PAN faction, and Ledia Hanifa and Netty Prasetyani from the PKS faction.

A member of the DPR Baleg from the Golkar faction, Nurul Arifin, views the Family Resilience Bill as having the potential to divide the nation rather than unifying the nation. This is because there are articles that interfere with family matters too much.

"In this Family Resilience Bill, we also become a nation that seems to be resilient. Like in Chapter 9 there is community participation. It's like how we take care of other people's households, even though the household has its own entity," said Nurul. the capitol, Thursday, November 12.

Nurul admitted that he agreed if this bill strengthened the role of the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN). However, he did not agree if the community was given a role to interfere in other people's household affairs.

"Actually, I want to strengthen the BKKBN, I agree. Indeed, the program must be continued over time. But for me there are irregularities, wanting to enter into the structure to the smallest level in the regency / city. In fact, in the smallest role the role of the community is to manage other people's households, "he explained.

As is known, there are 146 articles in the Family Resilience Bill. The Family Resilience Bill has become a controversy because it is considered too touching the personal realm.

Several articles that are in the public spotlight include regulating the wife's obligations, prohibiting sperm and ovum donations, prohibiting uterine rental or surrogation, and compulsory reporting of sexual deviations such as LGBT and irregularities in sexual activity such as BDSM in the family.
