CILEUNGSI - The Cileungsi River Care Community Cikeas (KP2C) urges the government to investigate environmental pollution which is considered to have occurred in the Cileungsi River for a long time.

"There is a pungent smell, there is a fishy smell. If the fishy smell is suspected to be from meat waste, it is from industries related to living things. There must be an investigation. If the smell is strong, it is usually the ones that use chemicals," said the chairman. KP2C Puarman in Gunungputri, Bogor Regency, West Java, Antara, Thursday, July 28.

According to him, this is not the first time this has happened to the unpleasant smell and foam piles in the Cileungsi River. There is also waste in the form of foam. "In this Parigi waterfall, almost every day there is foam. So the flow is from before the waterfall, it could be from Bogor Regency or from Bekasi City, we don't know where it came from," he said.

Puarman suspected that the foam pile had sprung up because the river water which was contaminated with chemical waste experienced turbulence when it flowed from the waterfall.

"We don't know for sure what type this foam is, but it is suspected that this is waste from laundry or domestic. It needs proof, it's not easy to prove it. But there must be government efforts, don't just keep quiet," said Puarman.

Previously, the flow of the Cileungsi River, precisely in Bojong Kulur Village, Gunungputri, Bogor Regency, West Java, was polluted with foamy conditions and emitted an unpleasant odor.

The appearance of the white foam waste did not last long, but only took a matter of minutes at around 08.30 WIB on Tuesday, July 26.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bogor Regency Environmental Service (DLH), Ade Yana Mulyana, said that his party would monitor waste disposal in the Cileungsi River through surveillance cameras or CCTV.

"The function is that when pollution occurs, we can at least identify where the starting point is. That's what we've been struggling with so far," he said.

He admitted that he was calculating the number of CCTV needs with the Cileungsi-Cikeas River Care Community (KP2C), then adjusting it to the budget prepared for procurement.
