MAGELANG - The Collection Team for the Tax Service Office (KPP) Pratama Magelang confiscated the assets of taxpayers in Kalinegoro Village, Magelang Regency, Central Java.

Fransiscus Xaverius Hadi Indrajaya, a State Tax Confiscation Officer (JSPN) of KPP Pratama Magelang, said the confiscated assets were a plot of land with an area of 650 square meters belonging to an individual taxpayer with the initials MI, who had not paid off tax arrears.

Present at the confiscation were the Head of the Examination, Assessment, and Billing Section (P3) of KPP Pratama Magelang, the Head of Kalinegoro Village, and representatives of family members of the taxpayer.

Indrajaya said that the tax arrears came from a tax debt of Rp. 313 million which had not been paid off by the taxpayer.

"The confiscated assets serve as collateral for tax debts; and if taxpayers have not paid off their tax debts, an auction of the confiscated assets will be carried out," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 28.

The confiscation action was carried out because the taxpayer did not pay the tax arrears until the due date that had been given. Previously, for taxpayers, active collection actions have been carried out in the form of notification of warning letters and forced letters.

With the confiscation action, he hopes to provide a deterrent effect to tax arrears and taxpayers to comply with the fulfillment of tax rights and obligations in accordance with applicable regulations.
