JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Gembong Warsono urged DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to conduct a thorough audit of the budget for the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).

"Do a thorough evaluation, a thorough audit so that in the future when it is used, there will be no casualties. I'm afraid that once it's used, it will collapse even more badly. Right, it's terrible," said Gembong when contacted, Wednesday, July 27.

Gembong emphasized that the budget for the construction of the international-class stadium was quite large, which was more than Rp. 4 trillion. Gembong does not want BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) as JIS manager, to make the DKI Provincial Government lose money if the quality of development is inadequate.

Moreover, during the construction auction process, Jakpro chose a contractor who worked on a building with a contract value of Rp300 billion more expensive than other bidders. The contractor is PT Wijaya Karya Gedung Tbk.

"The winner of the tender won is more expensive. This needs to be audited thoroughly. That's why it's APBD money, you know. Our capital investment in Jakpro is also quite large. If the output is like this, it's worrying," said Gembong.

"Then, for example, at a later date when there is a big event, it turns out that it brings victims, we really love it, isn't it. Can it be categorized as international?" he continued.
