SULBAR - The Pasangkayu Police in West Sulawesi (Sulbar) has tightened the border to prevent the spread of foot and mouth disease (FMD) in livestock.

The Head of the Pasangkayu Police, AKBP Didik Subiyakto, said that his party had just established a border blocking post between the provinces of West Sulawesi and Central Sulawesi.

"The blocking post to prevent PMK from entering West Sulawesi has been built in the Sarjo Sub-district of Pasangkayu Regency, which borders Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province," said Didik in Pasangkayu, West Sulawesi, Tuesday, July 26.

He said the isolation post was built in collaboration with the TNI along with the village and sub-district governments on the border of Pasangkayu Regency.

According to him, the blocking post was built to break the chain of PMK distribution

He conveyed that the isolation post was carried out by monitoring and monitoring the traffic of livestock transported by public vehicles when they were about to enter the West Sulawesi region.

"All vehicles transporting livestock are stopped, to be checked for completeness such as the Animal Health Certificate (SKKH)," he said as quoted by Antara.

The police chief said that if the vehicle carrying livestock did not have an SKKH, it would not be allowed to pass into the West Sulawesi area. "They will be asked to turn around," he said.

He hoped that with the isolation carried out, the increasingly widespread PMK outbreak could soon disappear, besides that the isolation was expected to run safely, smoothly and conducively.
