Case Of Alleged Village Fund Corruption, Mukomuko Prosecutor's Office Examines Dozens Of Village Officials

JAKARTA - The Mukomuko District Attorney's Office (Kejari) in Bengkulu has examined more than 10 village officials regarding allegations of misappropriation of the Air Kasai Village Fund for the 2021 fiscal year.

"Until yesterday, more than 10 people have undergone examinations, and all of them are village officials and the Air Kasai Village Consultative Body," said Head of Mukomuko Kejari Rudi Iskandar, represented by the Head of Intelligence Radiman in a statement released by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 26.

The Kejari Mukomuko examined more than 10 officers from the Air Kasai Village, Air Dikit Sub-district regarding the alleged misappropriation of the Air Kasai Village Fund for the 2021 fiscal year.

It is suspected that there are procurement activities sourced from the Air Kasai Village Fund in 2021 which are fictitious or cannot be accounted for.

In addition to examining village officials, including the Community and Village Empowerment Service and the Mukomuko Regency Inspectorate regarding allegations of misappropriation of the Air Kasai Village Fund.

The case of alleged misappropriation of the Air Kasai Village Fund is still in the investigation stage, and is being handled by the local intelligence department.

"Currently we are still investigating cases of alleged corruption in village funds by collecting data and information from parties related to this case. If it turns out that there are findings of state losses, then the status will be upgraded to an investigation," he said.

After his party has obtained sufficient evidence, he said, the handling of cases of alleged corruption in village funds will be transferred from the intelligence field to the special criminal field so that the handling is more focused.

"If this is really strong data and documents later, and to further confirm this case, we will delegate it to the special criminal field," he said.

His party raised the status of the investigation into the alleged misappropriation of the Air Kasai Village Fund from an investigation to an investigation, after there was a state loss due to this case.
