Police Arrest 1 Perpetrator Of Beating Journalists To Death In East Jakarta

JAKARTA - Police arrested a young man named Rafli alias Ogef (24). Rafli was one of the perpetrators of the beating of a journalist named Firdaus to death.

Firdaus was previously found dead covered in blood because he was beaten by an unknown group of people in the Cililitan area, East Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 19.

"Rescrime units have arrested the perpetrators of the beating that resulted in the death of the victim Firdaus, a journalist,," said Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Kombes E. Zulpan in his statement, Tuesday, July 26.

The perpetrator was arrested after being on the run for four days. The arrests took place in the Jati Asih area, Bekasi.

Based on the results of the interim examination, the beating was carried out because the perpetrator did not accept being reprimanded while urinating in the victim's yard.

"The suspect did not accept being reprimanded by the victim while urinating in the victim's yard, so he invited the suspect's father and friends to gang up on the victim," said Zulpan.

In addition, the police have also obtained the identity of the other perpetrators. Currently, his whereabouts are being hunted.

"The identity of the other perpetrator has been identified in the name of Ade Erwin. Now he is on the hunt," said Zulpan.
