Drifted By River Current 11-year-old Boy In Padang Found Dead

PADANG - An elementary school student (SD) with the initials AR (11) was dragged by a river in the Durian Ratuih Parak Rumbio Pagang area, Padang City, West Sumatra, on Monday afternoon, July 25, was found dead. Padang Basril in Padang, Tuesday, said the incident happened at around 17.15 WIB, at that time the victim was playing ball with three of his friends. "The ball they were playing fell into the river and the victim tried to take it into the river," he was quoted as saying by Antara. In the river, it turns out that the river water is quite deep and exceeds the child's capacity. He said the victim could not save himself and drowned in the current of the river. "The river current is quite heavy due to the rain that flushed the city of Padang from morning to evening," he said. Officers who came to the location together with the community tried to find victims in the river. After doing a search, they finally found the victim's body and took him to dr. Rasidin Padang City to be given help. "After arriving at the hospital and being examined, the hospital declared the victim had died," he said.
