JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM) confirmed that Citayam Fashion Week is in the process of registering a mark. Registration is carried out by two parties, namely PT. Tiger Wong Entertainment owned by Baim Wong and Indigo Aditya Nugroho

“It is true that DJKI has received two applications for registration of the Citayam Fashion Week brand. Both of them are registered in class 41 and currently their status is being published,” said the Coordinator of Mark Examiner, Agung Indriyanto in a written statement, Monday, July 25.

PT. Tiger Wong registered for the types of entertainment services in the nature of fashion shows, entertainment services, namely providing podcasts in the field of fashion, to the publication of fashion magazines for entertainment purposes.

Meanwhile, Indigo Aditya Nugroho registered for the services of contest selection (entertainment), expos on arts, culture, and education, fashion shows (entertainment), party planning (entertainment) for promotional events related to fashion shows, and live stage performances.

Agung explained that the DJKI received the two applications for registration on July 21, 2022. If both applications have entered the publication period, all parties can file an objection to the application for registration of the mark.

After the publication period, the two brands will still go through several stages until they are officially registered.

"Based on Law Number 20 of 2016 concerning Marks and Geographical Indications, trademark registration needs to go through several stages, starting from a trademark application, formality checks, announcements (2 months), substantive examination (150 working days), registered and then certificate issuance," he explained. .

Later, the right to give the mark is the trademark examiner after the inspection process.

For information, trademark registration at DJKI can be done online at dgip.go.id. Brand protection adheres to the first to file system or whoever registers first gets the right to protect the mark.

Mark protection is given for 10 years from the first application for trademark registration and can be extended for trademark protection.

It was previously reported that Baim Wong and Paula Verhoeven's PT Tiger Wong Entertainment registered the Citayam Fashion Week brand with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Judging from the Intellectual Property Database (PDKI), Sunday, July 24, registration for Citayam Fashion Week (CFW) was carried out on July 20, 2022 with application number JID2022052181.

Citayam Fashion Week in the application to enter class code 41, namely the type of goods/services:

“Entertainment in the nature of fashion shows, entertainment services, namely providing podcasts in the fashion sector, news reporting services in the fashion sector, providing non-downloadable online videos in the fashion sector, organization of fashion shows for entertainment purposes, holding exhibitions, fashion shows and cultural exhibitions for entertainment purposes, arranging fashion shows for show purposes, planning [entertainment] parties for promotional events in connection with fashion shows, production of television programs in the field of fashion for entertainment purposes, publication of fashion magazines for entertainment purposes”
