JAKARTA - Action against Law Number 11 Year 2020 concerning Job Creation by groups of students and laborers is still happening.

In their oration, the protesters asked that the Job Creation Law which has been passed and promulgated can be repealed through a Government Regulation in Lieu of a Law (Perppu).

VOI's observation in the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue Area, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat at 14:40 WIB, a mass of action consisting of groups of workers and students filled the two sides of the road. In fact, a group of students from Bung Karno University, Jakarta had burnt used tires while a labor group gave speeches.

"We ask the government to revoke the Job Creation Law and the government to issue a Perppu," said Orator from the SP LEM SPSI labor group, Tuesday, November 10.

They asked for this law to be repealed immediately because in the process of its formation it was deemed to be flawed in law and procedure. So, the most appropriate way is for the government to immediately revoke laws that are considered to make it more difficult for them

Apart from the demonstrators at the Arjuna Wiwaha Horse Statue area, there were other masses from the Joint People's Labor Movement (Gebrak). This group is still on Jalan Thamrin waiting for another crowd. Later they will join the masses in this area.

Previously reported, the Joint People's Labor Movement (Gebrak) and the Indonesian Student Executive Board (BEM SI) again held a demonstration against the Job Creation Law in the State Palace area today, Tuesday, November 10.

Gebrak, which consists of a combination of workers, students and the community will gather in front of the ILO Office at around 10.00 WIB. Then, proceed with a convoy towards the State Palace.

In today's action, Gebrak demanded that the government revoke the Omnibus Law and cancel a circular letter from the Minister of Manpower regarding the 2021 minimum wage that has not increased.

Meanwhile, BEM SI Central Coordinator, Remy Hastian said that his party would also hold a similar demonstration in the State Palace area at around 13.00 WIB.

"Coinciding with Heroes' Day, BEM All Indonesia will again enliven the State Palace as an attitude that students will not remain silent when the interests of the people are trampled by policy makers," Remy said in his statement, Tuesday, November 10.
