Don't Want To Stop Labeling Kadrun To People, Denny Siregar: It's Right We Label Those Who Trade Politics Using Islam

JAKARTA - Social media activist Denny Siregar views the labeling of desert lizards aka "kadrun" in the dynamics of national politics must remain.

According to him, the term makes it easy for the public to categorize individuals or groups in society, especially social media.

"It's true that we label those who trade in politics using Islam as "kadrun"," said Denny via his Twitter account, @Dennysiregar7, Friday, July 22.

Denny assessed that the group he called Kadrun often used narratives that seemed to represent Muslims. Therefore, labeling a person or group using the term kadrun, according to Denny, is very important.

"If not, well, they can claim that they represent Muslims," he said.

For Denny, the labeling of kadrun is not a labeling of Muslims. According to him, these are two different things that are separated in society and in social media.

"Islam is Islam. Kadrun is kadrun. The difference is much like Tom Cruise and Tope gout," said Denny Siregar.

The term kadrun is known to be a label for parties who are opposite to "tadpoles", supporters of Joko Widodo during the 2019 Presidential Election (Pilpres) moment.

Kadrun is a shift from the term "kampret", which in the mid-2019 presidential election was widely used by social media accounts of supporters of Prabowo Subianto.
