The President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfaniaputra, said that the fee waiver policy was because Garuda understood that there were concerns that passengers would be left behind on aircraft schedules coinciding with the large number of people picking up the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Muhammad Rizieq Shihab.

"For this reason, Garuda Indonesia is committed to always being present with all passengers by presenting a number of solutions for passengers affected by congestion access to the airport," said Irfan in a written statement received by VOI, Tuesday, November 10.

"The implementation of the policy of flexibility in schedule adjustments and ticket refunds, of course, refers to the applicable regulations," he explained.

As is known, traffic jams on the Cengkareng Toll Road leading to Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The density ahead of the Cengkareng Toll Gate occurs due to an increase in the volume of vehicles.

Reporting from Twitter, @TMCPoldaMetro, the traffic jam started at 03.35 WIB. TMC also appealed to airplane passengers to leave early.

This congestion was caused by the large number of people who picked up the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front, Rizieq Shihab.

Broadcast by Front TV on YouTube, Rizieq Shihab sympathizers have gathered from Soetta Airport to the residence of the FPI High Priest in the Petamburan area, Jakarta.

They also held zikir, salawatan, and prayed for Habib Rizieq's safety while on the way.

Habib Rizieq uses a Saudia Airlines plane with flight number SV 816 and is expected to arrive at Terminal III of Soetta Airport, Tuesday 10 November 2020 at 09.00 WIB.
