SORONG - The Regional Public Service Agency for the Regional Technical Implementation Unit (BLUD UPTD) for the Management of the Raja Ampat Islands Marine Conservation Area (KKP) has socialized a number of new regulations that must be obeyed when operating in conservation areas.

Head of BLUD UPTD KKP Raja Ampat, West Papua Syafri Tuharea said the regulations that were socialized were the KKP zoning system, tariffs for environmental services maintenance (TLPJL), leatherback shark restocking, ship pandalwas system and approval of the suitability of non-business marine space utilization activities (PKKPRL).

He explained that the new regulation in the Raja Ampat water conservation area needs to be socialized so that the community and all stakeholders know that the rules are made to be implemented.

"So there is a synergy with all parties who have a lot of activities using regional water conservation areas," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 21.

According to him, cooperation with a number of parties to support the management of MPAs is to apply the tariff for environmental services maintenance or TLPJL which has been regulated in West Papua Governor Regulation No. 4 of 2019.

Therefore, he said, the socialization of TLPJL and zoning was carried out as a forum for sharing information, increasing understanding of the importance of maintaining and conserving sustainable natural resources in the Raja Ampat MPA.

In addition, what are the efforts to monitor, parse, control and supervise ships operating within the KKP so that there is no conflict in the use of marine space.

The BLUD UPTD KKP as the managing authority is designing the Ship Monitoring Control System (Pandalwas Kapal) in the KKP so that no ships crash and even damage the coral reefs that have been guarded so far.
