Jokowi Requests Investigation Of Brigadier J's Death Case Not To Be Covered Up, Police: Maximum Working Team

JAKARTA - The National Police is ready to work optimally and transparently to reveal the facts behind the bloody incident that killed Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J at Inspector General Ferdy Sambo's halfway house.

The statement was made in response to President Jokowi who asked that the handling of the case not be covered up.

"The team is still working optimally," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, to reporters, Thursday, July 21.

For the development of the handling of this case, Dedi said that currently a special team is investigating the newly discovered CCTV footage.

The CCTV camera allegedly recorded the incident around Inspector General Ferdy Sambo's halfway house in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta. So, it is hoped that this can be a bright spot for revealing the death of Brigadier J.

"The technique and method are forensic laboratories that understand. When it's finished, it will be delivered," said Dedi.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ordered the Bhayangkara Corps led by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to be transparent in an effort to thoroughly investigate the investigation into the police shooting case at the house of the inactive Head of the Propam Police Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

"I've already said, investigate thoroughly, open it as it is. Don't hide anything, be transparent. It's done!" Jokowi firmly

Jokowi said transparency is very important in the investigation of the shooting that killed Brigadier J, so that there is no public doubt about the police institution.

"This must be maintained. Public trust in the Police must be maintained," he added.
