Police Error Number Of Suspects In Deadly Pertamina Tank Truck Accident In Cibubur

JAKARTA - The police have corrected the number of suspects behind the deadly accident of a Pertamina tanker truck in the Cibubur area, Bekasi. So far, only the driver has been named as a suspect.

"One suspect, the driver," said Traffic Director of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Latif Usman, when contacted, Thursday, July 21.

The number of suspects was corrected because on the previous occasion, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes E. Zulpan, said that the driver and the assistant were the suspects.

Latif continued, the determination of the driver was based on the results of the case title. Then, a number of examinations of witnesses and evidence of clues.

"For the time being, from the results of the investigation and examination of witnesses, examination of the driver and examination of the vehicle, we can determine that the driver is a suspect," he said.

Then, from the results of the investigation, it was also found that the Pertamina truck driver was suspected of being negligent. Because, before coming from the location of the case, he already knew that the Sudan brake function was experiencing problems.

"The results of their negligence were checked, they were the ones who were driving. After being tested whether there was negligence during the inspection, it was they who were in control. They should have known the exact condition of the car," said Latif.

For information, the fatal accident occurred in the Alternative Transyogi area of Cibubur, Bekasi, Monday, July 18. Pertamina's tanker truck hit dozens of vehicles causing 10 people to die.

So far, the exact cause is not known. However, it is suspected that Pertamina's tanker truck experienced a failed brake.
