DKI Deputy Governor Calls Human Error The Cause Of Pipe Leaks In Transjakarta Revitalization Project

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said the leak of a pipe belonging to the State Gas Company (PGN) in the work area for the revitalization project for the Transjakarta bus stop on Jalan MT Haryono was caused by human error or human error.

According to Riza, unwanted incidents in government projects like this don't happen often.

"It's called human error. There, what is called human error, doesn't happen every year, every month," said Riza at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, July 21.

The former member of the DPR emphasized that, in principle, every government project work is carried out with permission and through coordination.

"It's common, yes, it's normal. Technically, everything that does the work has conditions. There is a permit, there is coordination, it must have all been done. But this is the first time in history that this has happened," he explained.

Riza ensured that his party was evaluating the TransJakarta bus stop revitalization project near vital infrastructure, following the PGN pipe leak incident.

"This is everyone's concern, of course, our technicians ask to be more careful at work," said Riza.

Riza asked related parties to follow up so as not to cause new problems.

"That's the process of renovating the bus stop there, then there might be a pipe hit there. That's our concern, it will be handled immediately," said Riza.

Meanwhile, regarding compensation from the project implementer, Riza will first confirm the condition of the project. "We'll see, later we will check first," added Riza.

Meanwhile, the Corporate Secretary of PT Waskita Karya, as the implementing contractor, Novianto Ari Nugroho said the incident occurred during the erection work which resulted in a pipe leak belonging to the State Gas Company (PGN).

The project team, he said, had coordinated with related parties, namely PGN, to close valves, repair leaking pipes, and sterilize work areas.

In addition, with the police to help regulate traffic and firefighters to anticipate the occurrence of sparks.

"We can say that in this incident there were no casualties and traffic on Jalan MT Haryono has been reopened," he said in an official statement.

His party has also mapped the gas pipeline with PGN before the work begins.

However, the incident still occurred even though the cause of the pipe leak was not explained.
