JAKARTA - The Polda Metro Jaya Regional Police's Special Anti-Begaly Team returned five cell phones belonging to bicycle robbers to their respective owners.

"Today there are five people who come, there are five victims whose 'cellphones' were intercepted by these perpetrators," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus at the Metro Jaya Regional Police Headquarters, quoted by Antara, Monday, November 9.

After two weeks of work, the Metro Jaya Police's Special Anti-Bike Begal Team succeeded in confiscating as many as 71 cellphones which were taken from the robbers and only five units were taken by the owners.

"For those who feel that they have been victimized by the perpetrator, their valuable items taken are cellphones and other valuables. Please come to Polda Metro Jaya, we will give them, we will return them," Yusri added.

People who want to take their cell phones are asked to come to the Jakarta Metro Jaya Police General Criminal Investigation Directorate building. Yusri said the process of returning the cellphone was very easy, as long as it could show proof of ownership of the cellphone. He also ensured that the collection process would not be charged a penny.

Polda Metro Jaya to date has received as many as 13 reports related to cases of robbery or robbery against cyclists, with 10 cases successfully uncovered within two weeks.

Evidence of the 71 units of cellphones shows that there are still many robbery victims who are reluctant to report to the police.

Yusri appealed to the public not to hesitate to report any crime they have experienced to the police because this will greatly assist the police in eradicating the perpetrators of crimes that are very disturbing to the community.
