JAKARTA - Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) appreciates the fast work of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, in deactivating the Karo Paminal of the National Police Propam Division, Brigadier General Hendra Kurniawan, and the South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Budhi Herdi Susianto.

Chairman of Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) Sugeng Teguh Santoso urged the Internal Police Special Team to take legal action against members of the National Police who obstruct the legal process (obstruction of justice) by applying Article 233 of the Criminal Code.

Article 233 of the Criminal Code states that: "Anyone who intentionally destroys, damages, renders unusable, removes objects used to convince or prove something in front of the competent authority, deeds, letters or lists above. the order of the general authority, continuously or temporarily kept, or handed over to an official, or to another person for the public interest, is punishable by a maximum imprisonment of four years".

"This case must be used as a correction within the Polri body that carries out the Precision Police. Therefore, the Polri institution must be bold and take action against its members who are involved in committing irregularities and violating the law in the police shooting case that killed Brigadier Joshua," said Sugeng Teguh to reporters. , Thursday 21 July.

Sugeng said President Jokowi's directives were quite clear, namely that there should be no doubts from the public, they must be resolved and not covered up.

"The Internal Police Special Team must thoroughly investigate every member of the National Police involved in handling the case of the death of Brigadier Joshua at Inspector General Ferdy Sambo's house," he said.

Previously, the South Jakarta Police Chief, Kombes Budhi Herdi Susianto, was disabled in the aftermath of the police shooting at the house of the Head of the Propam Police, Inspector General of Police, Ferdy Sambo, at the Duren Tiga Police Complex, Pancoran, South Jakarta.

The Head of the National Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, explained that the reason for releasing Budhi was to maintain transparency and objectivity of the special team formed by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo related to the shooting exchange of two members of the Police Mobile Brigade, namely Bharada E and Brigadier J.
