Police Confirm Bareskrim Will Not Withdraw Case Of Brigadier J From Polda Metro

JAKARTA - The National Police confirmed that the case of Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J, which was handled by the Polda Metro Jaya, had not been brought to the Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

In that case, the basis for the investigation was a police report (LP) regarding an alleged attempted murder. The second concerns the threat of violence against women.

"The case of alleged molestation and threats as well as attempted murder has been brought to the Metro Police (not sent to the Criminal Investigation Department, ed)," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo to reporters, Wednesday, July 20.

Meanwhile, the case handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is related to the alleged attempted murder. The case was reported by Brigadier J's family on Monday, July 18.

"Regarding the lawyer's report, Brigadier J is handled by the Criminal Investigation Department," said Dedi.

Previously, Kompolnas said that the handling of the shootout case that killed Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J was withdrawn to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

The reason for withdrawing the case, said Benny, was to make the investigation process more effective. Moreover, so that all processes prioritize scientific crime investigation or scientific-based investigations according to the order of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

"So it's like this, earlier the case at the Polda was withdrawn to the Bareskrim, it has been submitted," said National Police Daily Chief (Kompolnas) Benny Mamoto.
