JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has budgeted around IDR 28.9 billion for the revitalization project of three art buildings in the capital, namely the Jakarta Arts Building, Miss Tjitjih Art Building, and the Bharata Wayang Orang Building.

"By the end of this year it will be completed, so next year we will get three good buildings", said Head of the DKI Culture Service Iwan Henry Wardhana as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 19.

In detail, the budget for the revitalization of the Jakarta Arts Building is around IDR 13 billion, the Miss Tjitjih Building is IDR 8.9 billion and the Wayang Orang Bharata Building is IDR 7 billion.

The budget, he said, was allocated from the 2022 DKI Jakarta Regional Budget (APBD) and is currently in the auction process.

"If these three physical buildings are operational, then the artistic expression activities of the artists will be more real, the works produced will be better", he said.

During the revitalization process, Iwan added that artists can temporarily use Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) for performances so that creativity can continue.

"Incidentally, TIM is under the Department of Culture, so everyone is accommodated", he said.

The Jakarta Arts Building is an old historical building from the Dutch East Indies government which is still standing firmly in Central Jakarta.

This building is a place where artists from all over Indonesia show their artistic creations, such as drama, theater, film, and literature.

Meanwhile, the Miss Tjitjih Arts building is prioritized for the preservation and development of Sundanese Drama.

Meanwhile, the Wayang Orang Bharata building is used as a place for wayang orang performances in Central Jakarta.
