JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said Indonesia and Timor Leste have agreed to strengthen the borders of the two countries and encourage the Joint Border Committee to be re-established.

"We agreed to strengthen border development. I also encourage the Joint Border Committee to be re-established," said President Jokowi when delivering a press statement with Jose Ramos-Horta.
President Jokowi expressed hope that the construction of the Napan Cross-Border Post (PLBN) in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) could be completed this year.
