Bali Satpol PP Will Check The Cave 'transformed' Into A Luxury Restaurant, If Not Licensed It Will Be Closed

BADUNG - Head of Bali Provincial Satpol PP Dewa Nyoman Rai Dharmadi ensured that the Badung Regency Satpol PP, Bali, would check the permit for a cave that was used as a restaurant in the hotel area in Pecatu Traditional Village, South Kuta District, Badung, Bali.

"The Badung Satpol PP tomorrow is planning to step in with several relevant agencies involved in it," he said when met at the Bali DPRD office, Monday, July 18.

They also don't know whether the cave that was turned into a restaurant is a natural cave or an artificial one.

"That's why it needs to be investigated," he added.

In principle, the cave that was turned into a restaurant is called the creativity of entrepreneurs to attract visitors.

"But if it is related to a permit (it will be checked later) by Badung. Do you already have an operational permit or something else? That needs to be confirmed first in the field," continued Dharmadi.

If not licensed, restaurant activities are prohibited. The impact will be a temporary closure, if not authorized.

"If you don't get a permit, of course, business activities cannot take place. While it is closed until the permit is issued first. (If the original cave is) it is already under the authority of the government and cannot be used as a place of business. -It's okay about that," he explained.

As previously reported, a video of a cave that was 'converted' into a luxury restaurant in Badung, Bali, was shared on social media. Satpol PP immediately went down to check.

From the Twitter account @BacangSpecial, the cave that was 'converted' into a luxury restaurant is under The Edge Hotel, Jalan Pura Goa Lempeh, Pecatu Traditional Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali.

The sub-district head of South Kuta, Ketut Gede Arta, admitted that he just found out that the cave was 'transformed' into a luxury restaurant. The Satpol PP is said to have visited the location.

"Yesterday, the Satpol PP who was at the BKO (Under (Control of Operations)) at the sub-district office went there. It turned out that it was in the (Hotel The Edge) page from the report that was reported to me yesterday," said Gede Arta, Friday, July 15.

According to the sub-district head, the cave was discovered by the hotel while it was under construction.

"So, the cave was in the yard when there was construction activity there (and) there was a hole. So after looking at it, underneath there was a cave that was still in the area (hotel)," continued Gede Arta.

"But what is clear is that it is in their area and in their yard. In the past there was construction but it collapsed, so after seeing it there was a cave and it was modified into a restaurant," he continued.
