Was Flooded, Garut-Cibatu Railway Station Has Returned To Normal

GARUT - The train line from Garut-Cibatu Station, which previously could not be crossed due to flooding, is now back to normal because the flood has receded.

"Because of the flood, the railway line was closed," said Head of BPBD Garut Regency, Satria Budi when contacted by reporters in Garut, quoted from Antara, Saturday, July 16.

He said heavy rains flushed the Garut area causing flooding in a number of sub-districts, including submerging the railroad tracks in the Garut-Cibatu Station cross path.

PT KAI, said Satria, has made efforts to handle the flood-affected rail lines so that train services can continue to run properly.

"PT KAI has made efforts, it is already operating, I can see from Garut that it has departed," he said.

A resident of Garut, Azi, said that his parents who took the train were caught in a flood and had to get off at Wanaraja Station, which should be the final destination of Garut Station.

"So the train that was supposed to go to Garut Station at night stopped at Wanaraja Station, many passengers were picked up by their families," said Azi.

The Public Relations Manager of PT KAI's Daop 2 Bandung, Kuswardoyo, confirmed that the Cibatuan and Cikuray local trains had been disrupted by the flood that submerged the railroad tracks in Garut with a height of about 40 centimeters.
