JAKARTA - The Trade Service together with the Satpol PP and the Madiun City Fire Department sealed hundreds of stalls in Madiun's Big Market which had been stalled for years.
The sealing is carried out by attaching a sticker with a statement that the business activity is temporarily closed starting July 15, 2022. Also, a sticker with an X picture is affixed to both sides of the door to avoid illegal opening practices during the sealing.
"Today, we executed kiosks that were not operational for a long time. Generally, a minimum of 5 years. In fact, some have been more than 10 years old," said Head of the Madiun City Trade Office, Ansar Rasidi, Friday, July 15, quoted from Antara.
The sealing was carried out because the kiosk tenants were declared to have violated the Madiun City Regulation Number 16 of 2018 concerning Market Service Retribution.
Ansar explained that initially there were 346 kiosks that would be sealed. However, over time the number of responses about warning letters (SP) from traders has increased. Thus, the total number of kiosks that were officially sealed were 107 kiosks.
He emphasized that the stalls were not operational due to the impact of COVID-19. Therefore, the Madiun City Government took firm action in this regard.
"The goal is that these stalls can be used by other people in need," he said
After the sealing, the Trade Office will carry out a reorganization of the stalls. Mainly, turning on the 2nd floor of Pasar Besar Madiun as a convection center.
For this reason, a number of strategic steps have been taken to make people more interested in occupying the kiosk on the 2nd floor of Pasar Besar Madiun.
"One of them is that we provide free delivery of goods from wholesalers to Madiun City. With these patterns, it is hoped that the economy on the 2nd floor of PBM can turn around and become a convection wholesale center for the surrounding area," said Ansar.
