Caught Carrying A Rickshaw Containing Stolen WiFi Poles, 3 Men In Binjai Were Arrested By The Police

MEDAN - A group of thieves who stole 3 WiFi poles belonging to PT Telkom located on Jalan Soekarno-Hatta, Sumber Karya Village, Binjai City, North Sumatra, were arrested by the police.

The Head of Public Relations of the Binjai Police, Iptu Junaidi, said that the three perpetrators who were arrested were the initials PA (25), P (27) and MPS (40). The three perpetrators were arrested from different locations.

Iptu Junaidi explained that the arrest of the three perpetrators began when the Binjai Timur Police Opsnal Unit carried out patrols in the early hours of the morning. At that time, officers saw 3 people carrying 2 poles using a tricycle.

"Then the personnel followed the rickshaw. Upon arrival at the Sugarcane Plantation, Tunggurono Village, the officers immediately stopped the rickshaw, but 2 people fled," said Iptu Junaidi, Friday, July 15.

From there, the police arrested a perpetrator with the initials MR. During interrogation, MR admitted that he had stolen the pole from the front of the Toto Hotel, which is in the jurisdiction of the Sunggal Police.

"The perpetrator also admitted that at around 02.00 WIB, 3 Telkom poles had just been taken on Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Tunggurono Village, East Binjai District, which were carried out by his three friends," he explained.

Obtaining MR's confession, the officers then carried out development and searched for the three perpetrators who stole to find the perpetrators of the theft of the Telkom Pole in the Tunggurono Village Area.

The personnel then conducted an investigation and obtained information about the whereabouts of the perpetrators. As a result, the three perpetrators were arrested from different locations.

"Perpetrator P was secured at Simpang Megawati, East Binjai District. PA was secured at Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Tunggurono Village and MPS was secured

on Jalan Bejomuna, Timbang Langkat Village, East Binjai District," he said.

After securing the three perpetrators, the police then contacted the owner of the WiFi pole to inform them of the arrest of 3 people suspected of stealing the Telkom pole on Jalan Soekarno-Hatta.

"Hearing that the reporter went straight to Jalan Soekarno-Hatta to check the pillars. It was true that as many as 3 poles were missing," he said.

Due to this incident, PT Telkom suffered a loss of Rp. 3 million and reported it to the East Binjai Police.

Currently, the three perpetrators and the evidence have been secured at the Binjai Timur Police. The perpetrators of MR were then transferred to the Sunggal Police for further legal proceedings.

"The three perpetrators were threatened with violating Article 363 paragraph 1, 3 (e), 4 (e) and 5 (e)," he said.
