Enthusiasm Of Booster Vaccination In Bekasi Is Low, Task Force: There Must Be A Puller Like Sharing Cooking Oil

BEKASI - The enthusiasm of residents in Bekasi Regency to undergo booster dose vaccination is getting lower. Although boosters are now a requirement for many activities in public places.

"The public for boosters has decreased, since the prices of all basic commodities have skyrocketed," said Deputy Spokesperson for the Bekasi District COVID-19 Task Force, Masrikoh in Cikarang, Friday.

According to him, currently people who have not carried out booster vaccinations are not enough to just be motivated, but need an attraction to want to carry out the third dose of vaccination.

"For boosters, there must be withdrawals such as distribution of basic necessities or cooking oil for daily needs. So it is rather difficult for us to be able to move quickly while there is no towing budget, at least from CSR companies that care and want to share," he said.

The third dose of COVID-19 vaccination is known to be a condition for traveling, entering offices, malls, and other public facilities or areas, according to the Circular Letter of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 440/3917/SJ concerning Acceleration of Advanced Dose Vaccination for the Community.

Masrikoh admitted that the booster dose vaccination in Bekasi Regency as of Thursday, July 14 had only reached 828,570 people or 39.06 percent of the total vaccination target in the area, which was 2,728,276 people.

Furthermore, the second dose of vaccination has been injected to 1,925,040 people or equivalent to 70.56 percent and the first dose of 2,206,934 people or 80.89 percent of the total vaccination target.

As for the availability of booster doses of vaccine in Bekasi Regency, up to yesterday, there were 22,246 doses of Sinovac, 8,540 doses of AstraZeneca, and 11,568 doses of Pfizer. All vaccines expire in August 2022.

Based on data taken from the detikikab.go.id page on Friday, July 15, the number of daily active cases of COVID-19 in Bekasi Regency reached 347 cases, while cumulatively it has infected as many as 84,756 people with details of 83,841 people being declared cured and 568 people dying.
