MEDAN - The Tanjung Morawa Police Team, North Sumatra, arrested a man with the initials IA (27). He was arrested for stealing 10 grams of gold from the shop where he worked.

Tanjung Moraw Police Chief AKP Firdaus Kemit explained that the theft occurred on Monday, July 11 at a gold shop in Surabaya, Jalan Irian, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency.

At that time a woman with the initials DR (29) gave 10 grams of gold to witness AS (13), the shop owner. The gold is planned to be made into a bracelet.

"Furthermore, the US witness put the gold in a plastic bag and put it on the gold repair table inside the gold shop," said AKP Firdaus, Thursday, July 14.

However, because there are other jobs, the US then left the gold. When he returned, the US was surprised to see the gold was gone.

"The US immediately informed the family of the incident and immediately made a complaint report to the Tanjung Morawa Police Headquarters," he continued.

Upon receiving the report, the police immediately launched an investigation. From the results of the investigation and CCTV footage, officers were able to identify the perpetrators.

"From the CCTV footage at the scene of the crime, it is known that the perpetrator of the gold thief is a man with the initials IA who also works at the gold shop," he explained.

Furthermore, the police immediately hunted down the perpetrator and arrested him on Tuesday, July 12. When interrogated, IA admitted what he had done.

"The perpetrator IA also admitted his actions and said that he had sold the gold to someone else for Rp. 3 million. The officers then secured evidence of the sale of gold, namely banknotes with a value of Rp. 3 million," he said.

Currently, the perpetrators and the evidence are secured at the Tanjung Morawa Police Headquarters. For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 362 of the Criminal Code.
