Landslide In Tasikmalaya, One Citizen Died

JAKARTA - There was a landslide disaster in Tasikmalaya Regency in the early hours of the morning. As a result, a resident of Parung Village, Cibalong District, Tasikmalaya, West Java died.

Kapusdatinkom and Disaster National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) there are a total of four residents who were buried by landslides. One of the victims died.

"Of the four victims, one resident died in the name of Bubun aged 45, while one person was injured and two others survived," Raditya said in a written statement, Friday, November 6.

Raditya said the local Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that the connecting road between Tasikmalaya and Karangnunggul was buried by landslide material.

"This condition disrupts traffic flow. However, in general the post-landslide situation is conducive," said Raditya.

Raditya said that the Tasikmalaya Regency area is indeed an area with the medium to high category for landslides.

A total of 35 sub-districts are in this category with a hazard area of 103,840 hectares, while the total population in this sub-district is 269,488 people.

Meanwhile, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) identified that today (6/11) the West Java region has the potential for heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning or lightning and strong winds. On this day, the weather forecast for Cibalong sub-district has the potential for light rain to thunderstorms.

"BNPB calls on the public to potential hydrometeorological hazards, such as floods, flash floods, landslides and strong winds," he said.
