Trump Furious There Is Cheating In The US Presidential Election, What Are The Facts?

JAKARTA - United States President Donald Trump went on a rampage on his Twitter social media account. He asked for fraud in the US Election to be stopped immediately. What are the facts?

"STOP THE FRAUD! (Stop cheating!)" Trump said today November 6th. The tweet was then labeled a warning by Twitter for allegedly misleading statements about the US election.

He made this statement amid the superiority of his opponent, the Democratic candidate Joe Biden. Currently, Biden is far away from Trump, both from the popular vote and the electoral vote.

In addition, on Thursday evening, Trump issued a statement at the White House that many in the US media, including the NPR, "falsely claimed that he would win easily unless there was fraud."

"If you count the valid votes, I win easily. If you count the illegal votes, they are trying to steal the election from us," Trump said in a speech quoted by the BBC.

Trump claimed that his victory was unsupported, saying "Great fraud on our nation (US)." Therefore he will bring the results of the US Election to the Supreme Court of his country.

In his speech Trump also denounced the postal voting process. He claims baselessly that the counting process for the ballots sent has been tainted and complains that many of the votes from those who were absent from the polls were cast for Biden.

"I have said very firmly that the incoming ballot papers will be disastrous," he said. "It's getting worse every day."

Polemic in the field

Trump has repeatedly complained that Republican watchdogs do not have adequate access to vote counting sites in Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania. Then his party filed a lawsuit in the state.

However, according to the NPR report, the lawsuit in Michigan was quickly dropped by a state court. Meanwhile in Pennsylvania, a state trial judge confirmed that Republican overseers had the right to be within six feet of the counting station. A federal judge also rejected a Trump campaign team lawsuit seeking to stop the vote count in Philadelphia on Thursday November 5.

Furthermore, on Thursday, Trump claimed his watchdog was removed from the polling station in Detroit. Even though the city official said Republicans were not exempted and there he also said there were Republican Party observers, but because of COVID-19, their capacity was limited, so not all supervisors could be allowed into the room.

In addition, Trump also said that voting officers in states whose votes are tightly contested are filled by Democrats. But in fact, the state secretaries in Georgia and Nevada --two of the five competing states - are Republicans.
