Komnas HAM: We Are Not Part Of A Special Team, Komnas Will Work Alone

JAKARTA - The Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) has stated that it is not part of the special team formed by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Komnas HAM will work alone to find allegations of human rights violations behind the death of Brigadier J alias Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat at the house of the Head of the Propam Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

"Komnas will work alone, of course, with SOPs and internal mechanisms within Komnas HAM, so we are not part of a special team or joint team," Komnas HAM Commissioner Beka Ulung Hapsara told reporters, Wednesday, July 13.

According to him, Komnas HAM was only involved in monitoring the investigation process. The goal is to keep the investigation transparent and accountable.

"Indeed there is involvement from Komnas HAM to monitor the process or even carry out an investigation into the process of disclosing cases that are our collective concern," he said.

Then, Beka said that his party would open up to all information from any party. So, the real facts will be obtained later.

"Komnas HAM with experience and knowledge as well as internal mechanisms will try to be transparent, accountable so that it can answer many questions from the community and also meet community expectations, including the most important thing is the expectations of the victims' families," said Beka.

Komnas HAM is said to be one of the external parties from the special team formed by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. In addition, there is also Kompolnas.

This special team was formed to uncover the real facts. Because this case is colored by a lot of wild information.

Then, this special team consists of internal members of the National Police, which is led directly by the Deputy Chief of Police, Komjen Gatot Eddy Pramono.

"This joint team is a professional team. It is led directly by the Deputy Chief of Police and Irwasum, and followed by friends from Kompolnas and Komnas HAM. So I think they are credible to handle this problem," said Sigit
