Man Who Claims To Be The Sun God Turns Out To Have A Mental Disorder

BANTEN – A man from Banten claimed to be the God of the Sun. The confession of the man named Natrom (62) was viral on social media. In addition to claiming to be the God of the Sun, Natrom is said to have money reaching IDR 2 billion.

Natrom's confession made the Head of the Lebak Police of the Banten Police, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Wiwin Setiawan, speak up. Wiwin said that his party, through the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) carried out an investigation.

Natrom is registered as a resident of Sawarna Village, Bayah District, Lebak Regency. The officers examined witnesses in the Sawarna Village area, Bayah District, Lebak Regency.

"We are examining witnesses, including the alleged perpetrator NT alias AY, as well as witnesses. Including us asking for information from religious figures such as the Chair of the Lebak Regency MUI and the Chair of the Bayah District MUI," explained Wiwin, in a written statement, Wednesday, July 13.

Wiwin also explained that his party took quick steps in addressing this issue.

"This quick step was taken to anticipate unwanted things from happening, the Lebak Police Criminal Investigation Unit conducted an investigation to find out whether or not there was an element of crime in the case and currently the status of NT (Natrom) is still a witness," said Wiwin.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Lebak Police, Commissioner Adjutant Indik Rusmono, said that so far his party had not found any criminal elements related to Natrom who claimed to be the Sun God.

"Based on the results of the investigation by examining the alleged perpetrators, and the witnesses, no elements of a criminal act have been found in the case. Such as the crime of blasphemy," he added.

Indik also explained that his party had conducted an examination of the alleged perpetrators and was cooperating with a psychiatric specialist.

"In addition, we have also carried out an examination of NT AL AY to a psychiatric specialist and the results of the examination indicated that the person concerned had a mental disorder, psychopathology, which was found symptoms of mental disorders that could interfere with activities of daily living, so it was recommended to control and take medication to a psychiatrist, in accordance with Letter Number 001/SKKJ/RSUD/VII/2022 on (12/07) so it does not meet the elements of a criminal act," explained Wiwin.
