REMBANG - Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Pol Ahmad Luthfi visited Rembang and met with a number of clerics or kiai in the district. The visit was carried out at the residence of KH Ahmad Mustofa Bisri or who is familiarly called Gus Mus at the Raudlatut Thalibin Islamic Boarding School Complex, Leteh, Rembang, Central Java.

During the visit, a number of scholars from Rembang were also present at Gus Mus' residence. Like KH Zaim Ahmad, the caretaker of the Kauman-Lasem Islamic Boarding School and Gus Zaimul Umam who is the younger brother of KH Baha'uddin Nursalim or Gus Baha.

Also present were the caretaker of the Al-Wahdah Lasem Islamic Boarding School, KH Ahfas Hamid Baidlowi or better known as Gus Ahfas, and one of the sons of the late KH Maimoen Zubair, namely KH Idror Maimoen or Gus Idror.

After holding a closed meeting with a number of Rembang clerics at Gus Mus's residence, the Kapolda told reporters that the agenda of the meeting was only to get together and ask for prayers so that the Central Java Police's extended family would become good police officers.

"We have a friendly relationship, together with the main Polda officials and religious leaders in the context of a normal relationship. There is no intention whatsoever, at least the Central Java Police, along with their extended family are prayed for to become good police officers. If the police receive good prayers, I am sure the community will also be good," explained Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi in a written statement, Wednesday, July 13.

He also emphasized that during the meeting for almost an hour and a half, nothing specific was discussed. The visit was only limited to gathering to strengthen the relationship between the ulama and Umaro.

"Nothing was discussed, just chatting. Because the task of the police and the ulama is the same, it is amaruf nahi munkar," he said.

He explained, specifically, he asked for prayers so that the Police could carry out their duties better in accordance with the expectations of the community.

The Kapolda denied that his visit was related to the incident of harassment of female students that occurred at a boarding school in Jombang.

"Nothing, nothing. Jombang, East Java, here is Central Java," he said

On the same occasion, Gus Mus confirmed that the visit of the Central Java Police Chief was only for gathering and asking for prayers.

"Greetings. It doesn't matter anything, just ask for prayers," said Gus Mus.
