JAKARTA - The Technical Director at the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Toya Wening Surakarta City with the initials TAS has been named a suspect in the sexual abuse of minors.

Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka ensured that the legal process against TAS has been handled by the Surakarta City Police.

"It has been processed, Pak Polres. The victim has reported it," said Gibran, quoted from the Surakarta Berita YouTube channel, Tuesday, July 12.

Gibran explained when the report from the victim was received, his party immediately processed the person concerned to the legal side.

"What is clear is that I as the mayor, the PDAM leaders, the Supervisory Board, take immediate action as soon as we receive the report," he said.

He also admitted that he was grateful to the victims who were not afraid to report the officials of PDAM Surakarta City for their disgraceful act of sexually abusing minors.

"I really appreciate the victim who dared to speak up, after that we immediately followed up," said Girban.

Gibran said that currently the Surakarta City Police had detained TAS. To account for his actions before the law, TAS has also been removed from his position as a senior officer of PDAM Toya Wening Surakarta City.

"The person concerned is no longer on duty. We will submit the legal process to the authorities," he said.
