JAKARTA - Thousands of dead broom-type fish were carried by the current in the Kali Baru River, East Jakarta, this morning. This finding was confirmed by the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency.

"On Monday, July 11, 2022 at 07.20 WIB in the Kali Baru River, to be exact in front of RT 001/08, Tengah Urban Village, they found/got fish in the Kali Baru stream that died and were carried away by the northward current," said Public Relations of the DKI Environmental Service. Yogi Ikhwan in a short message, Monday, July 11.

Yogi suspects that the phenomenon of the death of thousands of broom fish is caused by environmental pollution. However, further investigation is needed to identify the cause.

Therefore, continued Yogi, a team from the DKI Environmental Service is currently taking water samples from the Kali Baru River to identify and identify the alleged waste pollution.

"We are sending a team to take the water sample," said Yogi.

Later, this river water sample will be taken to the Regional Environment Laboratory of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Service. Meanwhile, officers are also cleaning up the garbage in Kali Baru.
