Only 26,030 Children In Babel Who Have Not Been Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19

JAKARTA - The Bangka Belitung Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force explained that 119,167 or 82.07 percent of the 145,197 total targets for children aged 6 to 11 years had received the second or complete dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

He explained that based on data on the achievement of complete vaccination for children as many as 119,167 children who underwent the second dose of vaccination, it was spread in Pangkalpinang City 17,440 children, East Belitung 11,073 children, South Bangka 16,451 children, Central Bangka 15,165 children, West Bangka 17,805 children, Belitung 15,490 children, and Bangka 25,743 children.

"The highest complete vaccination achievement is in East Belitung, which is 96.28 percent and the lowest is Central Bangka, which is 70.86 percent," he said.

He said the achievement of the first dose of vaccination specifically for children had reached 142,864 or 98.93 percent of the total target of 145,197 children.

A total of 142,864 children who received the first dose of vaccination were spread across 30,995 children in Bangka Regency, 17.093 children in Belitung, 20,987 children in West Bangka, 18,944 children in Central Bangka, 20,839 children in South Bangka, 21,575 children in East Belitung, and 21,575 children in Pangkalpinang City.

"The highest achievement in East Belitung is 108.09 percent of the target of 11,501 and the lowest is Central Bangka, which is 88.52 percent of the target of 21,400 children," he said.

Secretary of the Babel Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Mikron Antariksa, said the interest of parents to vaccinate their children was already high.

"Even though the COVID-19 vaccination has been given, it does not mean that people who have been vaccinated may ignore health protocols," he said.
