Firli Bahuri: 13 KPK Employees Exposed To COVID-19

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri said dozens of his subordinates were exposed to COVID-19. In fact, some employees have to be hospitalized.

"We understand that our atmosphere is still in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. For information that we need to convey to all colleagues, today, there are 13 employees who have been affected by COVID-19," said Firli when delivering his remarks for the inauguration of two KPK officials, Friday, July 8.

Of these, continued Firli, nine people have recovered. While the other three are still undergoing self-isolation in their respective homes.

"One person is in the hospital," he said.

The former deputy for prosecution of the Corruption Eradication Commission then reminded all parties to comply with health protocols. This is important to do to prevent exposure to the virus.

"We invite you to continue to apply health protocols and we are disciplined with health protocols so that we are far from attacks by the COVID-19 pandemic," said Firli.

As previously reported, the Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 76,507 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 2,881 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,103,552 people and active cases have increased by 694 to 19,046 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, July 7.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,877 people, bringing the total to 5,927,730 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 6 cases and a total of 156,776 people.
