SUMSEL - Officials of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) South Sumatra (Sumsel) prepare face-to-face services for correctional inmates (WBP) or inmates during Eid al-Adha 1443 Hijri Day on July 10, 2022.

Face-to-face services for inmates have reopened after the last two years of the service was abolished due to the high number of cases of COVID-19 transmission.

"In response to the reopening of face-to-face visits services for inmates in prisons (institutions), detention centers (restriction centers), and LPKA, I ask that they be prepared optimally," said Head of the South Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office Harun Sulianto in Palembang, South Sumatra, Friday, July 8.

He said, to open face-to-face visits services for prisoners, especially during sacrificial activities, prison and detention center officers need to make various preparations.

This includes anticipatory measures with early detection of potential disturbances to security and order.

Untuk melakukan layanan tatap muka itu, lanjut Harun, telah melakukan penguatan dan arahan bagiannya yang tersebar di 17 kabupaten dan kota dalam wilayah Sumsel.

"There should not be prisoners running, discrimination, extortion, and there should be no narcotics abuse through Eid al-Adha momentum visits," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the slaughter of sacrificial animals at Eid al-Adha this year, the Head of the Regional Office of the South Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Idris, explained that his party was coordinating with the local Regency/City Agriculture and Livestock Service to prevent oral and nail disease (PMK) in sacrificial animals in prisons and detention centers.

Based on Antara's report, the number of sacrificial animals to be slaughtered by the ranks of the South Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights when Eid reached 79 with details of 34 cows and 45 goats.

Idris said that through the face-to-face service and the slaughter of dozens of sacrificial animals, it is hoped that prisoners who are Muslim and their families can celebrate Eid al-Adha with joy.
