2,300 Livestock In Rembang Have Been Injected With PMK Vaccines

REMBANG - Vaccination against foot and mouth disease (PMK) penetrated 2,300 livestock in Rembang Regency, Central Java. That figure means 76.67 percent of the PMK vaccine injection target of 3,000 heads.

"We are optimistic that this weekend we can finish vaccinating 3,000 livestock according to the available 3,000 doses of vaccine," said Head of the Agriculture and Food Service of Rembang Regency, Agus Iwan Haswanto in Rembang, quoted from Antara, Thursday, July 7.

Moreover, livestock that are targeted for vaccination are readily available. Not to mention the interest of farmers who want their livestock to be vaccinated against PMK.

Previously, he added, his party had indeed carried out data collection on livestock that were the target of the PMK vaccine, but lately there have been many requests from the farmers themselves.

Among them, there is a request for PMK vaccination from farmers in Sale District. Because there has been previous data collection, there will be a priority scale for vaccination in the field.

The results of monitoring in the field, livestock that have received the PMK vaccine have no problems.

While facing the implementation of Eid al-Adha, his party will also deploy a team to check the health of the sacrificial animals to ensure that none of the sacrificial animals are exposed to disease, especially FMD.

The Agriculture and Food Service of Rembang Regency has also prepared 44 personnel, four of whom are veterinarians who will be tasked with checking the health of the sacrificial animals.
