The Case Of A Truck Driver Who Was Robbed And Dumped In Bogor Is Just A Scenario To Embezzle 25 Tons Of Sugar

JAKARTA - The case of a truck robbery on the Cikupa Toll Road, Tangerang, where the driver, MI (28), was dumped in Bogor, is confirmed to be a fabrication. Police said the charade was made by the suspect with the aim of embezzling 25 tons of sugar.

"The perpetrator (the truck driver, ed) has collaborated with brother S who has been designated as a DPO to embezzle 1 unit of an expedition truck and 25 tons of sugar," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan when confirmed, Thursday, 7 July.

In his plan, perpetrator S tied MI and took him to the Gunung Sindur area, Bogor. There, MI was then left tied up.

In this way, it is hoped that an opinion will arise from the public and the company where the suspect works has a criminal act. Moreover, its existence with the aim of sending sugar is very far away.

"The driver made a fake news that the sugar-laden truck was robbed and he was dumped in Gunung Sindur, to convince the driver's car owner to also make a police report of the false incident," said Zulpan.

Currently, MI has been named a suspect. As for S, its whereabouts are still being hunted.

As previously reported, MI (28) was found with his feet and hands tied and his eyes and mouth with tape in Bogor Regency (West Java). MI was then rescued by residents some time ago.

To residents, MI admitted to being robbed on the Cikupa Toll Road, Tangerang (Banten). The truck driver loaded with sugar was then tied up with his feet and hands and then thrown to Bogor.

However, the police investigating the case found suspicion. This is because some of the evidence and statements from MI do not form a common thread.

Head of Sub-Directorate of Resmob Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Handik Suzen also concluded that the truck driver engineered the robbery case he experienced.

"We have investigated and processed the crime scene as well as witnesses' statements that the robbery did not exist or was engineered," said Handik.
