CiGMark Survey: Ridwan Kamil Enters Top Of Mind Candidates For Vice President

JAKARTA - The CiGMark survey shows the name of the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil is included in the list of names that are potential presidential candidates (candidates) and vice presidential candidates (cawapres), under Ganjar Pranowo, Puan Maharani, and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).

"Top of mind figures to become president, if the election is held at this time, five names will appear," said CiGMark founder Setia Darma as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 5.

In the survey, Ridwan Kamil achieved a popularity figure of 80.1 percent, behind the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP Prabowo Subianto who appeared in first place at 95.8 percent, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan at 83.7 percent, and the Minister of Tourism and Economics. Creative Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno 83.2 percent.

In addition to measuring the popularity of the names of presidential and vice presidential candidates, CiGMark also measures the level of public preference for 18 figures. As a result, Ridwan Kamil is the most prominent, with a liking rate of 84.1 percent.

Thus, the name Ridwan Kamil competes in the top ranks in the results of the top of mind survey of presidential candidates. Not only that, Ridwan Kamil also entered the top four when CiGMark conducted a survey regarding strong supporters.

"Of the 18 names of existing figures, Ganjar Pranowo, Prabowo Subianto, Anies Baswedan, and Ridwan Kamil who appear to have a strong supporter base," he added.

Meanwhile, Center of Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) researcher Philips J. Vermonte saw that there was consistent support for RK in the CiGMark survey.

According to Philips, this is very positive because in the past year there have only been three names that have been constantly ringing loudly, namely Prabowo Subianto, Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo.

"I think this trend of consistent support for Pak Ridwan Kamil is interesting," he said.

The entry of Ridwan Kamil's name into the ranks of the top of mind candidates for president and vice president is a new thing. According to him, the more choices the better for all parties.

"There is a consistent increase in support for Ridwan Kamil by one to two percent. I think that is also high," he added.

In addition, he continued, Ridwan Kamil is a non-party figure, so there is no party movement to support his name.

"There is no party machine that increases his electability, this is organic; what CiGMark found is a genuine preference of the people," he said.
