Soon! 116 Families Affected By Abrasion In Amurang Coast, South Minahasa Can Occupy Temporary Shelters

MANADO - A total of 116 families whose houses were damaged by abrasion in the coastal area of Amurang District, South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province, could immediately occupy temporary housing (huntara).

The Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Minahasa Regency, Thorie R Joseph said that the construction of shelters for residents whose houses were damaged by abrasion in the coastal area of Amurang was completed this week.

"They will occupy the shelters next week. The shelters that were built are 120 units through the regional budget. After we re-data, 116 families will occupy them," he explained in Manado as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 5.

Thorie said that the families who will occupy the shelter are residents whose houses are within a radius of 20 meters from the starting point of the abrasion.

"On average, houses in that radius can no longer be occupied," he said.

He explained that the 116 families who occupy the temporary shelters will then receive permanent housing built by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) on the land donated by the Deputy Governor of North Sulawesi Steven Kandouw in Rumoong Bawah.

"The PUPR Ministry has reviewed the location and is just waiting for the construction time," he said.
