Steel Import Corruption Case, AGO Examines Indonesian President Director Jidal Stainless

JAKARTA - Investigators of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office examined the President Director of PT Jindal Stainless Indonesia Aditya Kumar as a witness in the investigation of the alleged criminal act of corruption in the import of iron or steel and its derivative products for the 2016-2021 period.

"AK as the President Director of PT Jindal Stainless Indonesia, was examined that the witness only confiscated utilization documents, sales data, data on the number of workers, and supplier data," said Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) Ketut Sumedana, in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 4. Aditya Kumar was questioned with two other witnesses, namely Rully Syah Rizal as an ASN at the Ministry of Industry. He was examined regarding the issuance of Import Approval (PI) for goods and an explanation letter (sujel) for 2015-2016.

Then witness Wahyu (W) as an honorary at the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (Ditjen Daglu) of the Ministry of Trade.

“W was examined about the mechanism of correspondence at the Directorate General of Foreign Trade and confirmed the preparation of an explanation letter (sujel) no. 380 to 385 made in May 2020 by TB suspects," said Ketut.

In this case, investigators at the Roundabout have named 9 suspects, namely 3 individual suspects and 6 corporate suspects.

Of the three individual suspects, two of them are private suspects and one is from the Ministry of Trade. The three suspects are Retain Banurea Young Analyst of Import Trade at the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (Dirjen Daglu) of the Ministry of Trade, Taufiq, the manager of PT Meraseti and the founder of PT Meraseti with the initials BHL or Budi Hartono Linardi.

Meanwhile, the other six suspects are importing companies, namely PT Bangun Era Sejahtera, PT Duta Sari Sejahtera, PT Intisource Baja Sakti, PT Jaya Arya Kemuning, PT Perwira Aditama Sejati, and PT Prasasti Metal Utama.
