Man In North Sumatra Almost Killed His Brother Stabbed With A Knife, The Perpetrator Was Arrested By The Police

MEDAN - The Dairi Police, North Sumatra, arrested a man with the initials RP (39) for stabbing his own younger brother, Badia Purba (37) with a knife.

The Dairi Police Chief, AKBP Wahyudi Rahman, through the Head of Public Relations Iptu Doni Saleh, said the stabbing occurred at a house belonging to Marlinton Purba in Lumbantoruan Village, Lae Parira District, Dairi Regency, North Sumatra, Sunday, July 3, evening.

Iptu Doni explained that the incident began when Marlinton was sleeping in his room. Meanwhile, the perpetrator of the RP was lying in the living room of Marlinton's house and the victim had not yet returned.

"So far, the victim and the perpetrator have also lived at Marlinton Purba's house. At around 11 p.m., the victim came home and the witness Marlinton heard the victim and the perpetrator talking," explained Iptu Doni, Monday, July 4.

Not long after, Marlinton heard the victim and suspect fighting. Hearing that, Marlinton and his wife immediately went out to see what was going on.

"At that time the witness saw the victim and the perpetrator fighting over a knife. The witness saw the perpetrator in a squatting position and holding a knife in his right hand and his left hand strangling the victim's neck," he said.

"Meanwhile, the victim was sitting with his back to the perpetrator and he was also holding the handle of the knife. However, the victim's entire body was covered in blood," he continued.

Seeing this, witness Marlinton immediately tried to calm the two of them. The witness immediately grabbed the knife from the perpetrator's hand.

"The witness asked the perpetrator why he had the heart to stab his own sister. Then the perpetrator answered because the victim wanted to stab him first," he said.

After that, he said, the perpetrator immediately left the witness' house. Seeing the victim was covered in blood, the witness immediately took him to the Puskesmas to get help.

"As a result of the stab, the victim suffered injuries to the neck on the left and right, tears in the back and left arm. The victim has also been referred to the Sidikalang Hospital for intensive care," he said,

Currently, officers have secured the perpetrators along with evidence at the Parongil Sector Police for investigation.
