DKI Has PR To Free 234 Hectares Of Land For Reservoirs

JAKARTA - One of the solutions for the DKI Provincial Government in dealing with floods is the revitalization and construction of artificial reservoirs and ponds. However, until now, there are still 234 hectares of reservoir area and land whose land needs to be freed from the land owned by residents.

The area of land that needs to be acquired will be used to expand the revitalized reservoir, as well as the construction of new reservoirs.

"From our study, each reservoir has land that must be acquired. Some must be freed 5 hectares, some 10 hectares," said Head of DKI Water Resources Agency Juaini Yusuf at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Friday, January 17.

Juaini said that the SDA Agency calculates the area of land for reservoir acquisition based on the water ratio according to the 2030 DKI Regional Spatial Planning (RTRW) by 5 percent. DKI has an area of approximately 66,152 hectares, so the water ratio of DKI is 331 hectares.

Then, DKI has also acquired 213 hectares of land for immediate physical development of the reservoir and there. "The shape will return to natural. We will plant trees and plants. There is also citizen interaction. So, its function is not only for flood control but also for citizen interaction," he said.

For this year, DKI will continue to dredge the five reservoirs that were carried out in 2019, namely in Pondok Rangon, Cimanggis, Sunter, and two reservoirs in Kampung Rambutan. In addition, this year DKI will start revitalizing the Brigif reservoir.

"The ones (reservoir revitalization) were already functioning yesterday, but some are tidied up maybe and yesterday it was not finished," he said.

Furthermore, apart from the revitalization of reservoirs and reservoirs, there are various other efforts by the DKI Provincial Government in dealing with flood problems. Starting from cleaning channels in settlements and roads, making infiltration wells, to land acquisition for normalization of the Ciliwung River.
