JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government involves the younger generation in formulating public policies and development in DKI Jakarta. According to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, this age group has creativity and innovation.

"The DKI Provincial Government has a collaborative approach and when it is collaborative, there are many new generations," said DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan at a press conference ahead of the G20 Youth Forum (Youth 20) in Jakarta, Saturday, July 2.

Anies said that one of the involvements of young people in the development process in Jakarta was to build public facilities at the TransJakarta Bus Stop.

These young people are members of the Jakarta Transportation Discussion Forum (FDTJ) which provides input to the DKI Provincial Government (Pemprov) through creative ideas. For example, the designs of maps and directions at the TransJakarta bus stop, he said, were made by young people.

"We do produce but they prepare the content. Then the material for the description of our city, all the results of young friends," he said, quoted from ANTARA.

So, said Anies, development in Jakarta is not just a consultation with young people but collaboration.

Not only that, said Anies, in terms of developing entrepreneurship in Jakarta through Jakpreneur, the majority of which are filled by the younger generation with new breakthroughs and innovations.

"If space is given in the government, then we are witnessing a lot of novelty," he said.

DKI Jakarta is co-hosting Bandung for the Youth 20 meeting from 19 major economies and one European Union government organization, 17-24 July 2022.

Priority issues that will be discussed at Y20 are related to employment, digital transformation, sustainability and diversity and inclusion.

The results of these discussions will later be used as input for the high-level meeting of the G20 Conference in Bali, November 2022.
