Jokowi Meets Zelensky And Putin Directly, KNPI: Representation Of The Constitutional Mandate On The Surface Of The 1945 Constitution

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) appreciates the peace mission brought by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to Ukraine and Russia. According to him, the visit represented the constitutional mandate.

"Jokowi's arrival to the conflict area between Ukraine and Russia brings an important message to the international community. Jokowi actually wants to signal that Indonesia fully supports efforts to resolve the conflict through peaceful means, aka deliberation," said Chairman of the KNPI DPP Muhammad Ryano Panjaitan in his statement, Friday July 1 .

"And that has long been the pattern of our nation. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and Pancasila are the basis for it," he continued.

Ryano said Jokowi's efforts to meet directly with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin embodied the participation of the Indonesian people in carrying out world order and lasting peace.

"The President's visit is a representation of the constitutional mandate and the great vision of the Indonesian nation as stated in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution," said Ryano.

Ryano assessed that President Jokowi was carrying out the nation's vision in responding to the development of global dynamics, and it was proven to have received many positive reactions and responses from various parties, both from within and outside the country.

He explained that Jokowi's diplomatic visit could be regarded as a historical loop, where at that time the 1st President of Indonesia Soekarno also took diplomatic steps that increased the nation's bargaining position in the midst of the vortex of the cold war between the Allies and the Soviet Bloc.

"We cannot deny that the Ukraine-Russia conflict is an arena for fighting interests in competing for political and economic influence by big countries. However, it should be underlined, with the presence of President Jokowi, showing the influence of the Indonesian nation is an inertial point in establishing global friendship in creating world peace as appropriate With our political principles, we are free and active," he explained, according to Antara.

This is where Jokowi plays a big role, he added, as one of the determining factors in reducing geopolitical tensions between Ukraine and Russia and their allies. Especially ahead of the G20 agenda where all global fundamental issues start from the economic crisis, food crisis, poverty, to green energy.

"This will be a central topic of world conversation," he added.

He said the breakthrough steps taken by President Jokowi in the eyes of the international community were considered to be a character of the president's concern and courage as a leader who should be an example for the younger generation.

Ryano hopes that President Jokowi's steps can have a positive impact on economic growth and political stability in the country, along with Indonesia's preparations to host the G20.
