When Lili Pintauli Again Urged To Resign From Her Position As Deputy Chair Of The KPK Due To Alleged MotoGP Tickets

JAKARTA - Lili Pintauli Siregar has been pushed back from his position as Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The pressure arose again after the alleged ethical violation in the form of accepting accommodation and Mandalika MotoGP tickets from PT Pertamina (Persero) would be tried.

After being reported back to the KPK Council for allegedly receiving a gift from a state-owned company, Lili will soon be on ethics trial. The confirmation of the trial was conveyed by member of the Supervisory Board Albertina Ho.

However, the KPK Council has not yet decided when this trial will be held. The schedule, continued Albertina, is still being worked out.

Lili Pintauli's alleged receipt of accommodation and MotoGP tickets was immediately brought to trial, which was then responded to by many parties. The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) has asked the former deputy head of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) to step down from his position.

MAKI Coordinator Boyamin Saiman assessed that it would be better for Lili to step down in order to protect the bounty of the KPK. Not only that, he judged that Lili's resignation could actually provide its own good.

"If the IDIC is willing to resign, then there is no need for heavy sanctions, such as dismissal. Thus, the IDIC is still entitled to receive pensions and other benefits," said Boyamin in a written statement to reporters quoted on Wednesday, June 29.

Lili, Boyamin continued, is very likely to lose her pension and other benefits if she is fired. Moreover, this is not the first time Lili has violated ethics.

Previously, he was also sentenced to a 40 percent reduction in basic salary for a year for abusing his position and dealing with litigants.

"Once again, I beg the LPS to step down for the sake of the Republic of Indonesia, the price of goodness in eradicating corruption remains in the hearts of the people," said Boyamin.

Meanwhile, ICW instead urged the KPK Council to impose severe sanctions in the form of a resignation request against Lili if she is found guilty in an ethics trial. This is because Lili is considered not only to have violated but also to have committed a crime of corruption in the form of receiving gratuities.

"ICW asks the Supervisory Board not to hesitate to impose severe sanctions in the form of a request for resignation as the Chair of the KPK," said Kurnia in a written statement, Thursday, June 30.

This sanction, continued Kurnia, is in accordance with Article 10 Paragraph 4 letter B of the KPK Council Regulation Number 2 of 2020.

Kurnia said this request was not just given. He said, there are a number of supporting arguments.

"Firstly, the actions allegedly committed by Lili's sister do not merely violate ethics, but include the criminal realm, namely gratification," said the anti-corruption activist.

The second argument was that Lili was deemed appropriate to be asked to resign by the KPK Supervisory Board because she had been declared to have violated ethics before.

"Therefore, based on this argument, the Supervisory Board should naturally have the courage to ask Ms. Lili to immediately leave the KPK," said Kurnia.

Furthermore, Kurnia said, the destruction of the KPK could be seen if Lili was proven guilty for allegedly receiving facilities and tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP from Pertamina.

"How not, apart from the poor performance of the institution for the last three years, it was also followed by the low integrity of its leaders," he said.

"It should be remembered, if you add Lili's alleged error, then during the last three years the KPK leadership for the 2019-2023 period has been proven to have violated the code of ethics four times. Each was done by Firli Bahuri twice and Lili Pintauli," continued Kurnia.

As previously reported, the KPK Council has collected materials and information from parties related to Lili's alleged ethical violations, including from PT Pertamina (Persero).

President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati has also been examined some time ago and provided additional information in writing.

Not only that, the KPK Council has also asked related parties to bring proof of booking accommodation at Amber Lombok Beach Resort and Mandalika MotoGP tickets at the Grandstand Premium Zone A-Red.
