Ministry Of Religion Calls International Hafiz Event Important For Indonesian Quran Studies

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion stated that the International Hafiz Quran event which was participated by Indonesian memorizers gave a positive meaning in advancing the study of the Koran in Indonesia. Guidance of the Islamic Society of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Fuad Nasar when contacted from Jakarta, Thursday, June 30. Fuad said that Indonesia's participation in international events was not only for the sake of producing memorizers. The Ministry of Religion wants this event to also be a way to reduce the number of illiterates in the Koran in Indonesia. According to him, the Quran hafiz who won international championships have made the nation and country proud. They are expected to play an active role in fostering Al-Quran education in their environment. With this ecosystem, he said, it will pave the way for the Ministry of Religion to reduce the Al-Quran illiteracy rate in the country which is still considered high. "We need to encourage the birth of scientists who are capable of digging pearls. pearls of the Koran in various disciplines. Hifzhil Quran is one of the gateways to the love of the younger generation for the holy book of the Koran," he said.

Previously, two Indonesian Quran memorizers, Jihan Afifah and Khairurazzaq al-Hafizi, made achievements in the international Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) event in the United States. Jihan Afifah won second place in the 30 juz memorization competition and Khairurrazaq Al-Hafiz was named the participant with the best voice who was asked to appear at the closing ceremony at The American International Tibyan Competition for the Quran and Its Recitations. "We also hope that Ananda Jihan and Khairurrazaq can be an inspiration and motivation for Indonesian children. Of course we feel proud because at such a young age , but they have succeeded in making the nation and state proud," said Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.
