Bank Riau Kepri Promises To Replace Money Victims Of Burglary Victims By Employees Worth IDR 5 Billion

PEKANBARU - President Director of Bank Riau Kepri Andi Buchari promised to return the money of customers who were victims of employee burglaries in accordance with losses reaching Rp 5 billion.

He emphasized that he had never compromised with employees who were proven to have committed fraud or fraudulent actions that harmed the bank which led to criminal actions.

"Bank Riau Kepri already has an internal control system and fraud investigation that can properly detect cases of employee fraud," Andi said in Pekanbaru, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 29.

Regarding the crime committed by an employee with the initials RP, Andi emphasized that he had made efforts to enforce the law by reporting it to the police.

This was done to warn all bank employees, BRK is not playing games in taking firm action against perpetrators who commit fraud.

"Reporting action will be carried out immediately, the detention of the perpetrators of this fraud case also has a positive impact in the context of converting BRK to Sharia. So that in the future it is hoped that it will prevent employees from committing fraud," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Head of Corporate Communications for Bank Riau Kepri, Dwi Harsadi Putra, added that so far no customer funds have been reported because they have been harmed by the suspect's actions.

"No customers have been harmed in this case, because we have replaced them. We guarantee the safety of customer funds. We also continue to closely monitor transactions at BRK. So far no one has been involved in more than one," said Dwi.

The suspect RP had contacted one of his colleagues at Bank Riau to help him find customer data. This was revealed from his testimony to the police.

"Yes, there is a colleague who was contacted by the perpetrator, he is a Customer Service, in Pasir Pangaraian, we are just asking for information. We will investigate this thoroughly and the perpetrator can do that because he has occupied existing positions," he said.

Previously, the Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Sunarto, said that the Riau Police were currently investigating the perpetrators of the RP.

"The case is still being investigated. It is possible that there will be additional new suspects. What is clear is that one RP actor is still under further investigation," he said.
