MATARAM - West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police Investigators have named the Head of the Rinjani Multipurpose Cooperative (KSU) Sumbawa Branch, with the initials ARF, as a suspect.

ARF was involved in fraud and embezzlement cases related to the promise to distribute three cows worth Rp 100 million from the National Economic Recovery (PEN) fund.

The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Artanto, said that general criminal investigators established ARF as a suspect based on the results of the case title. "From the results of the title, investigators have determined a suspect with the initials ARF, whose role is the Head of KSU Rinjani Sumbawa Branch," said Artanto in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, June 28.

As a suspect, ARF is suspected of Article 372 of the Criminal Code on Embezzlement and Article 378 of the Criminal Code on Fraud.

In handling the case, Artanto ensured that the Investigation Team for the Sub-Sector of State Security (Kamneg) of the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the NTB Police was still continuing to develop. The goal is to uncover the role of other suspects.

"So there are still development steps, because there are criminal indications of the involvement of other people," he said.

This case is being handled by the police based on reports from 39 people from members of the KSU Rinjani group, Sumbawa Branch. In the report, they felt cheated by the cooperative which did not keep its promise in distributing the aid of three cows.

However, in the event that the promised assistance comes from the PEN funds, the NTB Provincial Government has previously provided clarification to the police in the field of handling cyber crimes.

To the police, the government stated that the assistance of three cows worth Rp. 100 million mentioned by the KSU Rinjani management in the YouTube video upload was not included in the PEN fund distribution program.

The issue has also entered the criminal realm by naming KSU chairman Rinjani Sri Sudarjo as a suspect for spreading hoaxes. Now, the case has entered the court at the Mataram District Court.
